WICKED hardly needs an introduction. One of the most successful stage musicals of all time, it has captured the audiences’ attention worldwide with its reimagining of the world of Oz, long before Dorothy’s arrival.

From 28 January to 15 February 2026, the global phenomenon makes its Middle East debut at Dubai Opera, bringing the untold story of the friendship between Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, to the Dubai stage for the very first time.

At its core, WICKED tells the story that offers more perspective to The Wizard of Oz. It’s about two young women who meet at Shiz University, become unlikely friends, and are ultimately shaped by power, politics, and public perception. Glinda (played by Eve Shanu-Wilson) is charming, ambitious, and eager to be adored. Elphaba (played by Rebekah Lowings) is brilliant, outspoken, and marked from birth by her emerald-green skin.
