Deira Ramadan Souq 2026 is a seasonal market event set within Deira’s Grand Souq (Souq Al Ras), temporarily expanding and re-energizing the historic trading area ahead of Ramadan. Deira Ramadan Souq layers curated stalls, food zones, and cultural programming onto one of Dubai’s oldest commercial districts.
Running from January 17 to February 15, 2026, the 25-day market stretches across the Grand Souq area and Old Municipality Street Square, creating a pedestrian-friendly route through Deira. Alongside shopping and street food, you can expect free abra rides across Dubai Creek, making it easy to move between Deira and Bur Dubai as part of the experience.
What makes this souq worth a visit
Organised by Dubai Municipality, the souq is designed as a seasonal experience for everyone , offering a reason to explore Old Dubai during the weeks leading up to Ramadan, when the area traditionally sees increased evening activity. It is taking place in one of Dubai’s longest-running trading hubs, where wholesale spice dealers, perfumeries, and textile shops have operated for decades.
Deira Souq’s timing places it firmly within the city’s cultural calendar, particularly around Hag Al Laila (observed on February 4 in 2026). Celebrated across the UAE in the weeks before Ramadan, Hag Al Laila is a tradition where children dress in festive clothing and collect sweets and treats from neighbourhoods and markets. The Deira Ramadan Souq reflects this through themed displays, sweet vendors, and gift-focused stalls aimed at families shopping for the occasion.
Shopping, food, and things to do
Shopping at the Deira Ramadan Souq mirrors the everyday character of the Grand Souq, with an added seasonal focus. You will find Emirati staples such as perfumes, dukhun, spices, fabrics, dates, and handmade crafts, alongside Ramadan essentials including serving ware, kitchen items, home décor, and household goods.
In the lead-up to Hag Al Laila, many stalls specialize in traditional sweets, children’s gift packs, and celebration items, reflecting the festival’s role in the local calendar.
You can have a taste of Emirati tradition in the dedicated food zone which brings together more than 10 vendors. Take a moment to grab a bite of Emirati street snacks, and traditional desserts.
Cultural elements are also integrated through the market! You can expect folk music performances, small craft displays, and live demonstrations that highlight traditional skills. For families, there are children’s workshops and activity corners spread across the souq, reinforcing its role as a community-oriented seasonal market.
