Camp at the Rainforest in Green Planet Dubai: Sleep Among 3,000 Animals and Plants
Sleep overnight inside the Rainforest in Green Planet Dubai with wildlife, guided tours, camping and family activities.
Most people visit Green Planet during the day, spend a few hours exploring the rainforest, and head home before sunset.
But what if you could stay after everyone leaves?
That's exactly what Camping in the Rainforest offers. Every Friday and Saturday until October 2026, Green Planet Dubai transforms its indoor tropical rainforest into an overnight campsite where you can sleep beneath towering trees, wake up to birdsong, and experience the rainforest after dark.
It is one of Dubai's most unusual family experiences. You'll spend the night inside a climate-controlled rainforest that is home to more than 3,000 plants and animals. Throughout the evening and into the following morning, expert biologists guide you through wildlife encounters, nocturnal tours, feeding sessions, games, and themed activities that change every month.
Whether you're planning a family outing, looking for a memorable weekend with your children, or simply want to experience Green Planet in a completely different way, here's everything you need to know before booking.
What is Camping in the Rainforest at Green Planet Dubai?
Camping in the Rainforest is an overnight experience inside Green Planet Dubai, the city's indoor tropical rainforest located in City Walk.
Unlike a regular visit, which typically lasts a couple of hours, this programme runs from 7:00 PM until 7:30 AM the following morning, giving you more than 12 hours inside one of Dubai's most unique attractions.
Once the attraction closes to day guests, the rainforest becomes much quieter. As daylight fades, many of the animals become more active, creating opportunities to observe wildlife that is often resting during normal visiting hours.
You'll spend the evening exploring the rainforest with biologists, enjoying family activities, eating dinner, roasting marshmallows, watching nature films. Eventually, you’ll settle into fully prepared tents or hammocks inside the biome itself!
The next morning begins with breakfast before the experience concludes.
Why Green Planet stands out
Green Planet isn't a zoo or an indoor garden.
It is a fully functioning tropical rainforest built around a towering 30 metre artificial Kapok tree that recreates the climate, biodiversity, and ecosystems found in rainforests around the world.
Spread across four levels, the biodome contains more than 3,000 plants and animals, with species originating from South America, Central America, Africa, and Asia.Temperature, humidity, lighting, and rainfall are all carefully controlled to replicate a genuine rainforest environment throughout the year.
When you spend the night here, you're sleeping inside a living ecosystem. As darkness falls, the atmosphere changes completely. The daytime crowds disappear, the sounds become softer, and nocturnal species begin emerging, creating a very different experience from a daytime visit.
What happens during the overnight experience
From the moment you check in, the programme keeps you engaged until bedtime.
The evening starts with introductions before you head into the rainforest alongside Green Planet's team of expert biologists.
One of the highlights is the guided nocturnal rainforest tour, where you'll discover how different the ecosystem becomes after sunset. Animals that are often hidden during the day begin moving through the rainforest, while your guide explains their behaviour, habitats, and adaptations.
Throughout the evening you'll also enjoy:
- A buffet dinner
- A guided nocturnal rainforest tour
- Animal feeding sessions
- Entertainment centre access
- Nature themed movies
- Family games and activities
- Marshmallow roasting around a campfire
- Fully prepared tents and hammocks
- Buffet breakfast the following morning
- Collectible badges and stickers to take home
Green Planet keeps the programme running well into the evening before guests settle down to sleep inside the rainforest. The following morning begins with breakfast before campers have one final chance to enjoy the rainforest before heading home.
Every month brings a different rainforest adventure
One reason families return each year is because the experience changes throughout the season.
Each month introduces a new theme with activities designed around different aspects of rainforest life.
Jungle by the Moonlight
If you've ever wondered what happens inside a rainforest after dark, June is built around that.
Armed with torchlights, you'll explore the rainforest alongside Green Planet's biologists as nocturnal animals begin emerging from their hiding places.
During the walk you may encounter Amazonian anacondas, sloths, bearcats and several other creatures that are naturally more active after sunset. The focus is on observing wildlife behaving differently from what you'd normally see during daytime visits.
Rainforest Rovers Expedition Edition
July shifts towards adventure.
Children are encouraged to become rainforest explorers through scavenger hunts, interactive wildlife challenges, and discovery based activities spread throughout the biome.
Flashlights, exploration games, and close wildlife encounters make this month's programme especially appealing for younger campers who enjoy hands-on experiences alongside simply observing animals.
Legends of The Green Planet
August introduces storytelling alongside wildlife encounters.
Campers gather beneath the iconic Kapok tree to hear rainforest inspired stories before taking part in creative activities including jungle crafts and artwork.
Throughout the evening, you'll continue meeting colourful birds, porcupines and other rainforest residents while learning more about the myths and biodiversity surrounding tropical forests.
Each monthly programme follows the same overnight structure while offering a different experience depending on when you visit.
So far, the Green Planet has announced themed programmes for June, July and August. The camping experience itself continues until October 2026, but the October theme has not been published yet. If you're planning a later booking, it's best to check the official Green Planet website or call ahead for the latest monthly programme.
Meet the rainforest's most popular residents
One of the best parts of Camping in the Rainforest is the amount of time you get to spend with Green Planet's most recognisable animals.
You are very likely to meet Lemon the sloth, one of the rainforest's most photographed residents, as well as Kendrick the lemur, and Avo the anteater.
But the experience goes well beyond those favourites. The rainforest is also home to hundreds of free-roaming birds, reptiles, insects and mammals, so there is always something moving, calling or rustling nearby.
Depending on the evening and the monthly programme, you may also come across Amazonian anacondas, bearcats, porcupines, geckos and brightly coloured tropical birds after dark.
Camping in the Rainforest 2026 prices
Green Planet offers different pricing depending on your group size.
- Tent for two: AED 790
- Tent for four: AED 1,350
- Additional adult: AED 400
- Additional child: AED 300
Considering the experience includes overnight accommodation, dinner, breakfast, guided tours, wildlife activities, entertainment and souvenirs, it offers considerably more than a standard attraction ticket.
Spaces remain intentionally limited each weekend to maintain a comfortable experience for both guests and animals.
